What does the Ruf motor conversion consist of? Is the motor modified or does it just have bolt ons?
The conversion does not open up the internals of the motor, so you could say it is all bolt on's. It consists of a B&M air cleaner, a larger intake, a replace intake tube running form the top of the motor to the Turbos, modfied turbos (turbine vanes are sharpened to a a razor edge), upgraded exhaust with 100 cell cats and a reprogrammed ECU to take advantage of the increase in the systems ability to pack cool air in and kick exhaust out.
If you have ever seen the runner from the intake to the turbos you will note it is simply flattened to address a simple space routing issues from the top of the motor to the bottom. The replacement is a larger diameter hose that is rerouted a bit, but should flow more air.
Nice thing is the entire system was designed to work together and as such it really works.
