good luck on the sale
best year of the USA defender -- still has manual trans and improved soft top over the 94
Just in case you were not aware (you likely are) www.copleymotorcars.com is the premier defender retailer in the USA and pays top wholesale dollar for them in case you are interested in anything they have for sale.
No affiliation -- that is where my defender went... all the way from Seattle
I have long maintained these to be the most overpriced vehicles in the US. Those who know what's actually under the hood know what I mean. (Buick V8 based on the same block since 1968 if my memory serves me right, it's been 10 years since I've looked into these)
They're cool for sure, but I've never been able to understand why they fetch what the do, other than (obviously) very low numbers and a demand to outpace the supply. A lot of cash just to be different!
So much for your overpriced theory...Always amused when people say those type of things and have never owned the car or truck the are talking about.
Maybe there is a reason for using the same v8 for so many years. These are great trucks with a cult like following. No electronic junk to get messed up. Newer does not always mean better. The marketplace will always determine what something is worth. Especially low mile nice condition vehicle.
Congrats on selling for your price. I stopped advertising on here because I got tired of all the 'experts' telling me what my price should be.

I think he means "overpriced" in that you can get a comparbale vehicle that is less expensive to maintain, has bajillion times larger aftermarket, and performs equal to if not better on and off road... Jeep.
Truly if you are going to offroad these trucks, a Jeep makes more financial sense.
That being said... the D-90 is rare and unique in the USA and hence it holding its value quote well. I bought mine (a 97 white SW) with 2000 miles on it for $38K and then added 64000 miles and a couple dents and traded it in for $32K or so... in that regard this is the best vehicle I have sold.
All swb 4x4 trucks EXCEPT for Jeeps are holding their value quite well -- Defenders, FJ40s, Older Broncos, etc... simple supply and demand and defenders have the least supply.
I do not think any non jeep manufacturer will ever go after the two door swb 4x4 market in the usa given the stranglehold that Jeep has and the aftermarket that has developed to support them...
Look for defender prices to continue climbing slowly
I think I saw Don Johnson's Yellow 1994 D90 soft top go for $50K on Barret Jackson... and I do not think it was the celebrity ownership that moved the price up...
