SO Dissapointed Right now! After flying out to Denver to pick up a 997 turbo on Friday that I thought was in great shape (aside from a few nicks here in there), the car in person told a different story.
The car was sold by a private owner - car was described as 'great condition inside and out'...but the paint looked like it hasnt seen wax in all of its life, and interior had more dust buildup in there (not to mind trash still laying around) then my ceiling fans, and it turns out that 'New Tires' are actually tires that got put on 10K miles ago and are borderline slicks....
It almost broke my heart that somebody can not only drive/care for their (150K new) Porsche this way let alone, pick up a BUYER in it without at least cleaning out the trash from the interior.
I passed on the car, caught a flight back to Phoenix today and here I am - still searching for a CLEAN 997 turbo. I Know they are out there, especially by the 6speed owners.
Still Looking if anybody wants to get rid of theirs - manual only, meteor gray #1 choice of color...

any reason you must have a manual? i'll say it again, the tip and pDK hold boost the 6spd doesnt. Also its a dream only in the mind of the 6sp owners that it will be valuable. In 5 years, no one will know how to drive a manual so it will lose value much faster.

My daily is a dual clutch transmission - so to me I want something 180 from the car that I drive daily in terms of comfort and shifting (plus I love manually shifting, just not on a daily basis now). Yes I realize many of the smg / pdk etc are faster then the manual counterparts , more efficient at shifting but to me nothing beats the fun of the 3rd pedal in the proper sports car. 3 pedals is part of the 'reason' even for getting a weekend car - and no amount of technology in the car can override that for me.

You should probably also ad that you're looking for a private party sale only due to the sweet benefits of being an arizona resident and not paying sales tax on private party sales.
