For everyone's benefit, here's the response I just made to a number of PMs I received today:
Hello,
Thank you, and yes, it was an incredible ownership experience.
To answer your question as comprehensively as possible, no, there's nothing that I am aware of mechanically that a potential new owner might need to worry about. I personally did all the maintenance, including new oil and filter every 5000 miles, pads/rotors as needed, and plugs. There's the usual wear and tear that you would expect in a car w/ 80k miles, but nothing I would consider excessive.
The TPC software on this car was originally made for East Coast gas, which was then retuned for CA91. With a little bit of race fuel added in, the car pulls much stronger across the band. For anyone outside of CA, I would recommend sending in the ECU to be updated by TPC for real gas.
This car continues to be my daily driver and had been since I purchased it with 7000 miles on the clock in 2008. I put approximately 15-20 miles on it each day commuting to work, and the car has seen 1 performance driving event with BMWCCA during my ownership prior to the turbo upgrade.
There's not too many Mid Engine, RWD manual cars with 460hp crank out there as a natural upgrade path from this car. My original plan was to keep it for another 2 years, then go for a used exotic. GT4 changed my plans a bit.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Kevin
