Up for sale is my 2011 custom RCR Superlite Coupe. This build has taken over 4 years and recently debuted at the Concours d’Elegance at St. John in Plymouth Michigan in the supercar category. In fact the SLC was the only “kit car” invited to show in the Supercar Categories alongside cars costing 7 times more. The main thrill is in the design and building for me, so it’s time for a new project.
The build is based on the RCR SLC supercar kit which is built and designed in Detroit with contributions from McLaren Formula 1 engineers. The Superlite SLC is a mid-engine supercar with an all-aluminum monocoque chassis, billet push-rod suspension with a 6 point roll-over cage. It is a unique design with no donor car, nor is it a replica of another car.
From the base platform, to the design and parts selected for this build, this car blurs the line between kit car and an oem build.
The RCR SLC platform has also proven itself on the racetrack.
From the Superlite website:
” We didn’t just win a few races, we set lap records at every track we visited on the way to winning the 2011 NASA Super Unlimited class National Championship. We dominated at the National Championships, capturing pole position for every race, winning both qualifying races, and almost lapping the entire class in the final National Championship race.
All this in a car that you can buy today from Superlite Cars. Everything on the Championship-winning car is a standard or optional off-the-shelf part from Superlite. We sell what we race, so our builders and owners can have the confidence that their cars are actually race proven.
The Superlite SLC has great looks, a modern chassis, and now, a racing history.
It’s a beautiful thing.”
**The NASA SU class is a "run what ya brung" race class. The SLC destroyed Porsche Cup cars, retired Daytona Prototypes, Radicals, etc with a standard hp (much lower than my SLC) LS engine, Porsche transaxle (no sequential or exotic drivetrain parts).**
My car was designed and built with a “no compromise” principle. It’s equally at home on a long road trip or burning up the track all day. It has under 90 miles - all testing the build. No abuse. It is a new car.
It’s powered by a HKE 468ci ERL Superdeck block engine with All-Pro Heads, 6 Stage Dailey Dry Sump, billet oil pan, custom hydraulic roller cam w/.750 lift (yes - .750 lift hydraulic roller cam with zero valve float), custom stainless headers/exhaust, and a UK sourced Jenvey Individual Throttle Body intake. This engine pumps out a Dynojet measured 684 horsepower to the rear wheels through a Ricardo transaxle on regular 93 octane street fuel. Despite the monstrous naturally aspirated power, the engine is completely drivable with a smooth 700rpm idle and a ruler-flat power band from 700 – 7000rpm.
It may also well be the first (and possibly only) car with a custom 6 stage Daily Dry Sump and full AC/Heat. With it’s extremely light 2500lb dry weight, it is insanely fast, but extremely streetable with this custom drivetrain package. Again, with it's smooth idle thanks to the Jenvey ITBs, it's as easy to drive through a low speed parking lot as it is 200+ mph down a race track.
Drivetrain specs:
HKE 468ci Aluminum LS engine (4.250 stroke – 4.185 bore)
ERL Superdeck 1 engine block (stock deck height)

I won $80 on Xmas scratch offs.... sadly a bit short to buy this!
Are there any performance figures for it? Did you ever track 0-60 or 1/4 mile times?
The Ricardo transaxle is basically the strongest transmission you can buy.... as there are Ford GT's running them at well over 1600rwhp.

Thanks for the nice words!
Keep playing, it's a numbers game!
I never took it to the drag strip. It will do over 60mph in 1st gear. It's brutally fast. Come out east and I'll show it to you along with my 2jz FD.

And yes, it is street legal.

As someone who has no ties to the seller, just someone who is about to build one. I just wanted to point out this is hardly a "kit car" in the traditional sense.
It's more of an LMP car that is modified to be street friendly.
A basic one sets the average builder back $100k or more. This one is basically the best of everything with a focus on street-ability.
Likely one of the fastest lapping street legal vehicles to ever grace the forum.
Anyway, ridiculous car that I wish I could afford, good luck with the sale.
