You’re viewing a 2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage available for sale. This special vehicle was purchased from the previous owner in January (2015). Though it was with regret that he sold the Aston then, and I have the same regret he has now, he had a fantastic opportunity to pursue a unique restoration opportunity and, after meeting me and discussing the car, he assured me that the Aston, “couldn’t be going to a better owner”. I now hope to follow that precedent and find the next custodian for this fine automobile.
When purchasing an exotic, service history is something that cannot be ignored. When I came across this car, I knew I couldn’t have purchased this car from a better seller as he lived 4 miles from Sill Terhar Aston Martin of Denver (CO) where the car was purchased and serviced during his entire ownership. After reviewing the options list, color combination, and the increasingly rare and sought-after 6-speed manual, I ran, no flew, to Colorado.
The engine has 28,682 miles, OEM spec Bridstone Potenzas, and options that you might not expect, including dealer install Carbon Fiber side strakes on the fenders as well as an Aston Martin 6-bar racing grill. It also has a conservative 35% window tint which will keep you, and the interior leather, protected without hindering nighttime driving.
As you’d expect with an Aston, you will also enjoy the tastefully designed charcoal, over gray, leather that is elegantly contrasted with optional brightwork stitching. The dash also features the optional navigation package, which hides away when not in use. Though I often preferred the music of the engine, this Aston is equipped with with the 700 watt Premium Audio option for when the mood for music strikes. For those cool evening or morning drives, the factory optional seat-heaters also keep you comfortable and rear parking sensors for worry free parking at your journey's end.
You’ll enjoy not only the sight and feel of that beautiful interior, but also the sound, as this Aston was fortunately equipped from the factory with the 700 watt Premium Audio option. Factory optional seat-heaters also keep you luxuriously comfortable during crisp morning drives. Rear parking sensors were also added to the build sheet also ensure a worry free experience wherever you place your Aston Martin at journey’s end.
Before purchasing this model, I spent a lot of time on the phone both with it’s owner as well as Aston Martin of Denver where it had been serviced. They were already very familiar with the car and were more than accommodating with my multitude of questions before the purchase. I also paid to have a fresh pre-purchase-inspection performed before I made my final decision. The technician at Aston Martin spent an hour on the phone discussing his history with the car as well as the common areas of attention that you want to check with the Vantage model and what items to keep an eye on.
The Aston Martin tech assured me the vehicle was immaculate and only listed “advise” on the door struts beginning to become weak (never had a problem with them myself) and the passenger door lock not unlocking on the first remote press. He said the door locks often get reset when it’s been sitting for a long period of time, again, I’ve never experienced it myself. He sent me photos that he took of the vehicle while it was on the rack which I’ve attached below. I also had the dealer print the entire service history of the vehicle and attached that below as well.
Upon taking delivery of the Aston I was pleased to see it was in even better condition than I could have expected. Upon bringing it home I made very subtle modifications to the vehicle to help protect and preserve it’s factory beauty. The wheels and grill had been refinished in the past in a dark gun metal grey so I had them both dismounted and refinished in factory OEM silver. The color perfectly compliments the signature window trim and contrasts it’s gloss black paint. Being that I got caught in a rain storm driving it home, I proceeded to put the vehicle on a two-post lift and cleaned the undercarriage to keep it as fresh as possible.
I also installed a set of H&R lowering springs and mild spacers. The springs and spacers are both very conservative (15mm front and 23mm rear and only ¾” on the springs drop). It’s mild enough that nobody knows the car has been modified, but subtly adjusts the car’s attitude to set it apart and make it uniquely sleek in a row of cars at Cars & Coffee. The vehicle resided in my auto detailing shop that I own, and while there, I performed a full paint correction service on it to eliminate any swirls and micro-marring in the paint. After the paint was perfected I installed a layer of the new Opti-Coat Pro PLUS glass coating to protect it’s beauty for the rest of it’s life. I also coated the brake calipers to protect them and make cleaning easier.
The front clip and rear wheel arches had very minor rock chips from the normal driving, so the car received an entire treatment of paint matched Dr. ColorChip paint system to fill any small chips that existed and then was leveled to the surrounding paint. Because almost all of my driving is highway (two trips UT to CA, two trips NV to UT, CO to UT, ect) I installed a full front clear bra kit (bumpers, headlights, fender, hood, rear view mirrors) with self-healing film to ensure all of the miles are completely worry free.
The interior received a 36-hour treatment of Leatherique oil to rejuvenate the leather surfaces. They are completely soft to the touch and show absolutely minmal wear (see photos!). I also purchased a custom-fit sun shield for the windshield to protect the dashboard if I was ever parked outside.
This vehicle has been absolutely flawless for me. I’ve never had so much as a Tire Pressure Monitor error on the dash. It’s been an absolutely flawless motoring experience and made me feel incredibly special any time I’ve sat inside and pushed the Engine Start button on the dash.
