Epic car, GLWS! Out of curiosity, would the new owner have to get a charging station installed or is it something simple you can do on your own? (I have zero knowledge of Tesla ownership and I'm very curious to see how these do on the used market)

As for charging, I use a NEMA 14-50 outlet that I had a electrician install for under $100.

Ah, very cool! I don't know why but for some reason I thought you had to have a Tesla installed charging station which I thought cost around $10k. Glad I asked...makes this even better!

A little off topic but my buddy has a Teslas.
1. Tesla made sure he had to use a certified electrician and get signed off as they would not warranty any issues if you had some crack pot electrician install the outlet. His cost was more like $750. Not sure if this pertains.
2. In California to get the SCE rebate on your rate you then needed to get it certified for them as well which cost a few bucks (like $100)

I don't have a buddy with a Tesla, I own one and you're wrong.
I don't know why you attacked me and said that I used a crackpot electrician but this would be the third outlet that I've had installed for this purpose. Tesla has never mentioned it as a issue when I said I had a NEMA outlet installed in my garage by a electrician and never needed proof of qualifications.
I feel like your buddy just asked Tesla to deal with it which would explain the cost.

And I'm not wrong. You can go right on Tesla's site and see what you must have and first of all your electrical job must be permitted, that alone in CA is $150. Carry on others can google and see what it takes to get the proper outlet.
GLWS.

Sorry if that was a bit hard, It wasn't a attack. I'm just worried that it made it seem harder than it is to get it installed.
If you were another owner I'd understand but I hear so much wrong information third party about the cars it just makes me a little heated.
