Transmission failure 2007 gtc
Weird issue was hoping to get some input from the forum members....
Driving the car and all the gears light up and car gets stuck in gear. Dealer sold me two batteries and a charger stating the issue was low voltage.(the car was sitting for a few weeks but started fine) 20 miles later the same thing. It seems the problem happens about 15-20 miles after driving. The dealer tested the tranny and is advising a new trans for 20,000! They pulled a code for speed sensor and control module however they say they tested and both are fine. Fluid was clean when they dropped the pan with no metal. Wondering is anyone had a similar experience.

How long have you owned it? Condition, miles and Service history? Unfortunate predicament if it is in fact a tranny failure. Curious to know which dealer. I would get a second opinion and have the codes pulled during the malfunction event. The ZF six-speed auto is very reliable in itself, and the few problems are usually caused by switches and ECU connections. Tons of competent Bentley mechanics in L.A. just need to know where to look.

Need more info. I agree 15k miles and a tranny change is wierd... Did NBB also trouble shoot and recommend a new transmission? If so what was the reason? May want to post specific info leading up to the issue. Possibly someone has had a similar issue.

if all the gears are lighting up the trans is going into limp mode,it could be a valve body issue or on early cars we used to have the selector short out the micro processor board but i think that issue was resolved, why are they not recommending a new valve body and if i was you i would want to speak to an area rep because of the low mileage.ZF usually say their transmissions last 100,000 miles . get a second opinion and kick up some dust about it.

well,i would ask to speak to service manager and then ask him to escalate the case with Bentley, i know the rep personally so cannot give his number and to do it the right way would be to give the dealership as much chance as possible to help you.

Problem Fixed
I wanted to make sure the problem was fixed before posting this reply. Drove the car 3000 miles just to ensure it was working properly. The problem was a faulty power lead to the valve body. Turned out to be a $50 part causing all of this problem. Those idiots at Newport Beach Bentley wasted countless hours and thousands of dollars for a simple fix.
