Clear, Painted or Smoked side marker light?

I've noticed a lot of smoked side marker lights for the front and rear bumpers. I'm thinking about shaving them off at the body shop or having them painted color matching.

Do they even sell these in clear?

What do you guys think and what have you guys done?

Sorry to reanimate an old post, but looking for the same as one of mine got chipped when trying to remove to replace the bulb.

Any luck or new availability since then.
