Considering a Change

Hi

I am seriously considering the purchase of a Bent GT 2004/2005. Currently running a modified RS4 B7. I would really appreciate some buying advice as I am viewing 2 candidates this week!

i will start. common problems that should have been fixed are faulty 3rd brake light , falling headliner , replace front struts. does seller have maintenance records ? 10 year/100,000 mile service is about $4000.00.

During the ppi, make sure they look for any vacuum leaks as this can be expensive - ask me how I know.

btw, just bought a 2005 and absolutely love it!

Welcome aboard. I rented a 2005 (or was it '06) GT-C and it convinced me to buy one. Bought a new GT-C last November and I must say that there is not much of a difference between the '05 car and the current model as far as appearance/performance goes. I will probably be able to buy a 2006 low mileage model with the dollar amount mine will depreciate in the first year however!

Hi, thanks for your post. How do they drive? I am used to a modified RS4 B7 for last 4 years. Your right about depreciation though, this is why I am looking at 2044-2006 models.

How do they drive?- Like a big solid hunk of steel!!! Actually, for a vehicle weighing in excess of 5K lbs, they corner and stop rather well. I typically drive with the suspension set to its stiffest mode (sport) and either paddle shift (when I really need to accelerate) or put the gear selector in sport. This big ole sled will get up and go. The Gt's have very good brakes and will slow down better than a BMW 750i and almost as well as a Porsche C4 cab. The ride is about as good as any other vehicle on the road and the cabin (in spite of mine being a convertible) is very quiet. The fit and finish is just what I expected for a 200K+ vehicle. My only regret is that I could not find one about 1-2 years old with the specifications/color that my wife and I wanted so I figure I paid about 30 to 50K for that luxury.
