New wheels fitted. Pictures.

Lucky me managed to find these on Ebay for a song. The rims and tyres are brand new too.
So, off come the 9" x 19"s and on go the 9.5" x 20"s.
I'm well pleased and they will certainly be easier to keep clean.

Wheels look great! Is your car lowered and if so, by how much?

Nice wheels, the red centre cap means that they were OEM for the V8?

have you lost some comfort with the 20 compared to the 19?

Hi folks.

Thanks for the thumbs up.

Larryr. It's a 2004 W12. The wheels are the new V8 type and the original black B centre cap is a larger diameter than the red one, so they won't fit. I kind of like the red though.

PMS. The car is lowered with adjustable links by about 25mm.

Ulstrup. I don't know about the ride difference yet as I haven't driven it. The original tyres were 275-40-19 and the new ones are 275-40-20. I would have thought that they would be 35's but Bentley must know best. Perhaps the same profile will make no difference to the ride.
It does mean that there will be about a 3% speedo error but, in reality, it will probably be more accurate.

I will give it a try later today and let you know.

Les.

Looks awesome

Curious :

"The car is lowered with adjustable links by about 25mm"

Why not do this through the CAN interface?

Hi Zaos.

It seemed the best way as I don't have access to a CAN interface.
Still did the job though.

Thanks Dr Disaster.

Been out for a spin today and the ride is just as good.
Even the new TPMS sensors worked. I was worried they might have changed from early models.

Shocking to have things actually work out. You probably used your whole years worth of good luck.

Hi Ulstrup.

Yes, asthetics. I always think that the standard set-up leaves too much space between the tyres and arch. Later models are set lower as standard. At least the Supersport is.

The suspension does lower itself at 100 MPH/161KPH. Not a speed I do too often though.

It's possible to alter the suspension height via the VAG dealer diagnostics tool too. That's what Zaos was referring to.

Ah! I am perhaps confusing the GT with my last Jag XJR. That was 100MPH.
I tried confirming it on IETIS but got nowhere unfortunately.
