ULSTRUP is on a distinguished road
now what

Now that our British friends have left Europe what is going to happen to us, on the continent and what is going to happen to the Brits/americans when buying a bentley.

the problem is the following.

the car is mostly built in Germany and then sent up to Crew for assembling, leather work, wood work ec....

since England left, bentley will have to pay import duties to import the partially built car from germany (EEC) to England (non EEC) and then when selling car in ANY EEC countries they will be charged custom fees by the said EEC country!!

two possibilities:
1/ Bentley will support all these new taxes without increasing their prices, doubtful, and in any event a major profit margin decrease for the company.

2/ they will transfer the cost to the end buyer whether the import duties from Europe, major increase in price for american/european/asian/arab buyer, and export duties from England to EEC buyers, even bigger increase in price for us European!!!.

third possibility, and the British here are not going to like this one.
they close down CREW and transfer the company to germany where they will built the car in either VAG ''glass factory'' or in the rather new Porsche Leipzig factory.

same problem for jaguar, land rover, aston martin...... either they will transfer part/all their production to an EEC country or....they kiss goodbye to the 500 millions people European market due to their loss in competitivity.

the same situation is going to happen regarding the spares part thus the maintenance costs!

it's rather obvious that the European ''Gurus'' in Brussels are going to do their very best to make the british government life as miserable as possible in order to show to all European country members that ''leaving'' the Union comes with a very heavy price tag and that they better think twice......

The VW Group's Bentley brand of cars will do what is within their best interest. Of this I have little doubt.
