...I thought I use my 10Speed little (not at all here in the City) 20,000 miles in 6 years...yours apparently half that...what's up with that...get snow shoes or tyres an get out there...the car really needs running...you didn't mention any issues with the high mounted stop lamps...from what I gather, moisture invasion causes problems, is that why you keep it in the barn....just funning you...JimB

Hey guys i appreciate all of the info posted on this thread. I have an 08 Mercedes-Benz CL 600 that i will be selling and transitioning into a CGT. I have been looking at 08 GT Speed's but I live in Jacksonville, FL and came across this 06 GT with just under 9,000 miles, single owner. Im a little weary though. They are asking $59,900 but they dont seem to have service records for the car. What are you guys thoughts?

Hi.
An 06 will actually be a 2005 model. In the States you are always a year ahead for some reason.
The 2007 (UK) will be an 08 over there and will have some improvements over the early cars. It may however still be prone to the vacuum hose problem.
If I'm correct, the improvements included soft close doors and electric boot/truck operation.
With no service record I would be very wary. These cars need to be used.
Personally, I would go for the Speed.
Les.

Take VIN to any Bentley dealership and they can run the service history.
Be aware the car will need new tires if they are the original tires that came with the car. Low mileage but they are too old and will dry rot from the inside. The Speed owners manual says don't drive on any tires older than 5 years. I think you can stretch that to 7 years based on my research. In any case, any tires older than 2000 will need replacing.
If the dealer tries to tell you they have been replaced check the date codes on the tires.
Also check to see if the fresh air and recirc flaps on the HVAC system work.

Personally, I'd rather have a newer car with more mileage (w/ partial service history) than an older car with less miles and no service history. In my case, I really wanted a Speed (noticeable performance increase and aesthetics). And more mileage did not matter to me as I was able to get one with a good service history.
