Let's talk Bentley Tires
....For those unfamiliar with Bentley and considering purchase...I have a 2010 Speed bought new. Being among the most conservative Bentley drivers, I got 15,000 miles out of original tires and had Bentley Dealer replace with Four new Perrelli P Zero Asymetrical, High Performance, Soft Compound, Summer Tires, 275/35ZR20B2...the cost came out to $2000...included Balance, alignment and recalibrating ACC (I was told incorrectly that it was mandatory) The Tire Pressure Sensor Valves were not replaced (do these sensors have replaceable batteries)...
The Dealership did not have a trained technician to do alignment and they were not able to provide a normal Hunter Machine Align Report. I wound up taking my Bentley to Sears where a man with 20 years alignment experience did a correct job (with me under car with him) The Sears Alignment cost $80...
A Perrelli specialist advised me that Summer Tires are dangerous in Cold weather, they freeze up and crack...and he was talking moderate cold...around 37 degrees...very surprising since here in California in 2 hours we can go from 70 Degrees to 30 degrees in Sierras....enough for now...JimB

....sorry don't have any information relative to dropping front subframe...the Sears technician brought up on his computer all relevant specifications, did front and rear after setting steering wheel straight. He gave me the before and after computer readout. The car handles fine and tire wear even...I do not believe either Sears or Dealer did the Raised Toe Adjustment...I misspoke by memory said I paid $2000 in fact looking at invoice the total was $2,738.98...the bogus alignment was $400, I gave them second shot at it, which they failed miserable...that is when I went to Sears...

....For what it's worth...reading from an instruction print out, I believe source was the Hunter Machine Program, given to me by the Sears technician...."Bentley 2004-2011 Speed" Front Camber cannot be adjusted. It can be evenly balanced out within specification/tolerance range by moving the sub-frame....Detach front under tray...loose hex bolts 1,2,3,4,5,6...use long screwdriver to shift front subframe until camber within specs....Note: bolts 3,4,5,6 must be replaced...tighten rear bolts 5-6 to 150Nm...Tight front bolts 3-4 to 150Nm...tight bolts 1-2 to 75Nm...after Camber adjust always check Front Toe values...

....Anyone...what is the deal with one time use bolts...is this just being super cautious...do the original bolts stretch or crack...I know original new bolts are manufactured to certain specs...why would a bolt just loosened once and re-torqued loose integrity....

They are specifically designed as one-time bolts and are usually Titanium. Once torqued, they don't have sufficient historicity to return to original thread spec.

....while I suscribe to original look and equipment as car came out of Crewe, I may make exception here...
....Pirelli will have available this summer, Bentley tires with good looking either red, white, yellow or silver color line mostly around tire and built in sensors that send info to Control Unit (are they saying our cars' unit) and the cloud with all and more information than you can imagine...don't know price yet...but want them for Christmas...

It appears at present time the tires will communicate via a cellphone app, which said cellphone will display all available information to you via cellphone screen, and at the same time communicating with the cloud, in the future Pirelli would like the have the system integrated into new vehicles to use said vehicles display and warning systems.

....damned if I'll get a I-Phone just to check my tires...I'll just go on thumping them with my tire iron...haven't recovered yet from my venture into Autel/Windows debacle...
