Drove new M3...

I must say I'm not really all that impressed, looks and perfomance wise. It's a good car for the money though.

i think its a good car... i love the car alot! but not for the amount BMW wants for it right now... if it was the same price as the E46, i wouldnt have 2nd thought and already took delivery. but bmw HK wants 90% price increase over the E46 (when it was new)

hmmm. Very interesting. I was hoping to pick one up when they hit the US shores. What specifically were you diappointed with besides the price?

sorry guys, guess I was too brief! Was in a bit of a rush when I posted. So I'll elaborate now.

First of all when I first drove past I thought it was a 3 series coupe, I had to seriously look to notice it was an M3. The side mirrors are also not my liking, they should have stuck to the "tear drop" trademark mirrors used on the M5/M6, but that is subjective.

The wheels are also terrible! Looks like a damn 4x4 with all that rubber, but that again can also be easily remedied with something aftermarket.

Now for the general driving impressions. The gearbox is really good, a bit more firmer and solid than the E46 (feel wise). The steering is a bit sensitive same as the M5 and M6 with the servo assisted steering.

Power delivery is smooth and it does throw you in the seat a little, but just a little. Also did I mention this thing feels a bit slower than my ex-RS4?

They should offer more options on the interior as well - the steering wheel looks bland as well as the rest of the interior IMO.

Exhaust note is not bad - could be louder as always Like I said, I was expecting more and thats why I said its ok for the money.
The E46 M3 is definitely more fun to drive as well IMO.

never liked the rear bumper, or the side mirrors. I might have to go test drive it myself to see what all the hype is about

this car is way overhyped...especially by the sheep on the m3forums who flock to whatever ugly creation bmw comes out with just for the sake of the bmw name. thanks for your review.

Definitely! I love my M6 and M Coupe, but this one doesn't deserve the ///M badge!
