s8/b7

I had an s8 and an s63 both over the past 18 months. Both crs left me wanting womething a bit different. MY favorite sedan was my old rs6 . I picked up a new e63 last week and actually like it much better than the s63 or s8. I found the s63 to just be too big and heavy and had to really be pushed hard to feel in the sweet spot. The e63 is perfect .

Lucky for you, your guess about the BMW is correct, but remember to "respect your elders" and that goes for message-boards as well.
what does it matter that it's my dad's car? and i'm old enough to afford to buy myself a brand new E60 M5 which, by they way, is not even my first M5...so before you go jumping conclusion about my age or credibility, think about that. just because i don't own the car doesn't mean that i don't know what i'm talking about.

Never liked the 7-series or Alpina versions but a white s8 would be very exclusive for sure! Just be sure to have the full warranty if you go the used car route! My buddy had an older S8 and local dealer lemon'd it after he had numerous navi issues....

If you like stright line and handling get the B7. I have driven both as I used to sell Audi and still sell BMW and the Alpina wil walk the S8 in a straight line and through the corners. Get the S8 if you likes looks, a better interior and AWD. Most people have another car who own these where I am so the AWD really does not mean a lot. Where your located and if it is an everyday car then thats a big consideration. Be pre warned also that either of these is going to have HORRORIBLE depreciation. The Audi A8 might have the worst deprecation of all german car right now along with the Benz E Class E350/500 RWD).

Just somehting to think about. If it was me I would get the B7 becaus handling is the one of if not the most important thing for me when getting a car. Even more than looks because looks do not make the car driver differently. The handling/acceleration id used EVERY time your driving. Also the sterring in the B7 has a better feeling. The Audi was way to overboosted to me. The exhast notes in both cars is very nice as well. The brakes were also better on the S8. As you can see both have plusses and minuses. Like I said if it was me the most important thing about a car is how it "feels" and "drives" and the BMW does both better IMO. Not a lot better yest still better.

One last opinion for you. For a different idea if it was me I would get a MAS QP. Handles better than both car and also looks beftter than both EASILY. If you afford both of the cars your looking at a QP is not much more if not the same price. I know it is more expnsive to maintain but the Audi is not cheap either. No maintenence included with teh Audi either but it is withe BMW. If you can afford any of these car the cost of maintenece of the QP over the Audi should not be a problem. If it is then maybe you shoould look at a regualr A8 or 750. Not trying to sound like an ass but if you can spend 125k on a car you should not worry about cost of maintenence. Get the QP

He will be waiting for many years as there are no plans to fo a B7 on the new 7. In fact there will be no 12 cylinder 760 for a few years. Used 65 is nice also but I would just go New or Pre Owned QP if I was him.

S8 obviously, besides the 7 is just SO UGLY! For the price of the 7 I'd get the M5 and save the change for mods. V8 cannot compare to V10s, no chance in hell.
