Ai Design E92 M3

Hey guys,

I just wanted to share some pictures of a recent project we just completed. This particular M3 was a combination of a number of interesting creative elements including both exterior and interior work as well as some serious electronics integration.

The exterior received a full AC Schnitzer aerodynamic package consisting of a carbon-fiber front spoiler w/ struts (not pictured), side skirts, carbon-fiber rear wing, roof spoiler, and carbon-fiber hood vents. A pre-installed Vorsteiner carbon-fiber rear diffuser was also re-adjusted for better fitment.

To address additonal performance, a Dinan ECU and carbon-fiber cold air intake were installed along with an AC Schnitzer Sport exhaust. A set of Brembo brakes, 6-piston in the front, 4-piston for the rear, were also installed behind the existing HRE P40s.

Additional performance mods include Dinan front sway bar, AC Schnitzer rear strut bar, and full AC Schnitzer race suspension w/EDC defeat.

Interior

The interior and electronics integration are what really sets this M3 apart from the rest.

We started by re-wraping the center console with "carbon fiber" leather to better match the OEM cube trim. Additional interior mods consist of an AC Schnitzer aluminum handbrake and pedal set to keep the theme consistent with the exterior.

The M3 also recieved our full custom integrated in-mirror 9500ci radar/laser protection system.

Another highlight of this build was the integration of a FLIR Pathfinder thermal camera into the existing BMW iDrive system. The Camera housing itself was carefully mounted behind the front grille.

Last but not least, a BMW Performance sports steering wheel was installed to finish off the interior.

Very nice!

A question tho, I thought the steering wheels with multi-function displays only work with stick?

Great build. What is the use for the thermal camera?

Murtaza,

There has been a lot of conflicting information regarding this, however without going into any specific details, our technician was able to make the steering wheel work without any problems. The wheel and all of its functions work 100% with the DCT.

Alex,

Our customers request the FLIR for a variety of reasons, however most seem to use it mainly for nighttime driving. I have a comparison video that I can post up, but the FLIR allows drivers to see upcoming road hazards much more clearly than conventional lights and also in low visibility situations. The camera also has a wide angle lens which allows it to capture potential obstacles which may be hiding off to the side of the road as well.

Great work Stan, very Classy!

Looks fantastic.

I also would like some pics of the 9500CI Integration as well.
