Hi Rob,
Yes this intake does fit the 2.5L motor. It's a nice starting point and sounds good.
I'm not sure about gains from the throttle body and there is no plenum for the 986 cars. We have not done the competition upgrades on the 2.5 yet. If anything, I don't believe the intake will hurt the performance gains from the other upgrades.
