what exactly is the difference between these two versions ? and

is it enough of a difference to shell out the price difference to get an 987?

In my opinion you cant beat the value of a 97-2002 2.5 or 2.7 car. Many go for below $15K with low miles.

There are plenty of differences and I believe there already is a thread about them.
But nothing like test driving both and seeing which one you like better.
