Cayman VS 2009 Mazda R3

what do you guys think about the new 2009 Limited in production Mazda RX-8 R3.The package is similar to the old R1 Racing package they did on the previous RX-8 body style .Would this be a better car then my 2.7 Cayman? My girlfriend says I would have Buyers Remorse.

  • Bilstein® shock absorbers complement the urethane-foam-injected front suspension cross member to provide superior dampening and handling performance.
  • Strong, lighter 19-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels are paired with high-performance 225/40R19 tires that help maintain grip and vehicle control.
  • The R3's enhanced handling is complemented by the powerful 1.3L RENESIS rotary engine with an impressive 9000 rpm redline mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
  • Uniquely-sculpted exterior features an aerodynamically modified front end, while side sill extensions and a rear wing spoiler help aid vehicle stability at high speeds.
  • Exclusive Brilliant Black Clearcoat and Aurora Blue Mica exterior set the R3 even further apart.
  • Standard integrated side turn indicators, fog lights, Xenon self-leveling headlights and rear twin circular LED taillights.
  • Aggressively styled ****pit features aluminum foot pedals and foot rest, as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, parking brake and shift knob with aluminum accent.
  • Designed exclusively for the R3, Recaro® front sport seats add a high-performance feel to the interior while providing better lateral support for shoulder, torso and hips.
  • Bluetooth® hands-free phone system† allows you to take calls without taking your concentration off the task at hand - pure high-performance driving.
  • 300-watt, 9-speaker Bose® audio system with Centerpoint® Surround Sound and AudioPilot® provides surround sound from the in-dash, 6-disc CD/MP3 changer or auxiliary audio input jack for mobile media devices such as an iPod*.
  • With the available Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry and Start System you can keylessly lock or unlock both doors, start the engine or remotely operate the power windows.
  • Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)‡ with Traction Control System (TCS) optimizes rear-wheel traction and cornering while increasing driver vehicle control.
  • Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), advanced driver and front passenger air bags**, side air bags and side curtains are all standard.

I guess you haven't been to any rotary forum on how many times RX-8 owners get new engines free from warranty.

And you think IMS/RMS problems are bad... LOL.

Sell your Porsche for a Mazda? Really?

I think you would kick yourself every time you opened your garage door.

It's just an RX-8 with fancy seats, 19's, and a body kit, no?

the rx-8 is a very under rated well balanced and solid performer, but the touch, fit and feel will my match your p-car!

I'd vote for cayman. I had a 94 RX7 TT and now own a 911. 911 is a slightly faster car but that's the only remote similarity these cars have. Porsches are better is all aspects. I dont think they are even comparable....
