Talking I need your 2cents: What did you replace your stereo/speakers with?

Well, I am bored again and need a new project. I am going to replace my stock cassette player(unless they come back in style soon). I am curious what you all put in your porsche. I know I am kind of limited on speakers, because of the pre-existing holes. But I would love to get a rocking system for under $1000(preferably less(of course)).

Break down of Components I am looking at.
1.) Stereo (cd not needed,prefer e music)
2.) Speakers (gotta be crystal clear and loud)
3.) Amp
4.) Sat radio (My area sucks for reception)

Please include a rough $$ estimate, How satisfied you are with it, and if you had to do any customizing(like cutting bigger holes).

Burg Boxster is on a distinguished road
mptoledo-

check out this comprehenisve guide to upgrading the Boxser's sound system. Pick and choose what you want to install. The full guide was written by andy_m over on renntech.org

also, here is a template i made for the door speakers to replace the stock 5.25" tuned ports. DO NOT waste your time trying to find better 5.25" speakers. It's impossible w/o a TON of power. Just bite the bullet and go w/ either 6.5"/6.75" or even 6x9" for the doors. The rest my friend is up to you.

Pretty cool, thanks for the link. I get no radio reception what so ever. I am leaning towards xm sat but hate signing up for a montly fee. I wonder if you can just get a power antenna booster.
