Chasing around a TPC car at VIR...

hey guys just thought I would stop by and tell you about chasing one of the TPC Caymans at the VIR PCA event. While I had enough horsepower to stay with most Caymens/Boxters in my run group, (blue/white) I ran in to a black one that I just couldnt hang with. I tried, but between the curves and straights I couldnt hang. I did get to watch for a lap or so, as we were in traffic and it was poetry!!! I had the opportunity to meet Mike Levitas' son Harris (I think) and he seemed like a very knowledgable kid.(driving an 09 with c/o and swaybars) I hope to join your ranks some day with a TPC kit of course
here is a video of a different run group if interested (b4 I got bumped up)

Any chance you have video of the turbo car? Was it black? Debaged? Twin round exhaust tips? That could have been me

I was running in the blue/white group that weekend. There were 2 other black Cayman S's in the group, so I am not sure who you saw.

It was my 1st time to VIR and I had a blast. I'd love to see video if you've got it.

Thanks!

yeah that was you!! I just couldnt hang, but stayed close enough to watch you. I didnt get moved up to blue/white until middle of 2nd day and had ran with the others(black caymans) and then ran into you. I chased hard (maybe a little to hard) and my instuctor pointed out why I was having touble. All the Audi guys were in that group and were with me and we all split time with 2 cameras, so I will run through the other vidoes. (this session I had the camera, but the guy in the pits didnt turn it on correctly) You may look at the other vids under my youtube account (R8,B5 S4) and catch a glimpse...doing the November Audi Club at VIR You in???? I would love a ride!!!
What # were you I took several pics in OakTree...if your interested....

I definetly remember your car but I don't recall seeing you too many times on track. Were you coming out of the pit and I came up on you in #1? I recall seeing you at least once and I thought it was in turns 1-3 but I am not sure.

Those other Cayman drivers are pretty fast, so if you got past either of them, your 1st day in Blue, you must have been cookin...Nice driving!

The turbo, believe it or not, is detuned. I dropped about 50hp to make it more manageable on track. It's still quick but the car was fast because TPC put JRZ's on a couple of days before. M Levitas was there and setup up the rebound and compression for me. It felt great and drove incredibly well.

I saw the R8 a couple of times. What a beautiful machine? I want a ride in that!!!

I was # 271.

I am looking for more track time this fall and didn't know Audi had a VIR event. So I will look into it, thanks for the heads up.

And thanks for posting the kind words! Hope to see you out there.

I think that may have been my blue turbo you were following at the end of the session, 996TT. I remember your blue car, it has turbos right?

No turbos available for a B7 (v8 stuffed in an a4) just coil overs, sways, RS 4 brakes, and cat back exhaust. Would love to have a S/C that PES has out for it, but I think I will likely wait for a Cayman S with intentions of the TPC kit....

did you have a round number plate on the door ?? If you watch part 2, you will know for sure...I remember I missed a gear when you (the car in the video) gave me the point and it took me a second to get out of your way....Lots of fun for sure...
