I'm sure I won't give all the differences but:

faster higher HP/Torque engine
6 speed manual versus 5 speed manual
upgraded brakes
s (standard has sound package plus) where that's an option for base model
haha - badge on the back

those are the things that come to mind at least...

thx,
ben

Christian, Cayman S is to the Cayman line as the Carrera S is to the 911. Thats the best way to look at it in a more aggregate picture.

The biggest difference is that the Cayman S has a 3.4 liter (320 hp/273 tq/12.5 comp ratio) vs 2.9 liter (265 hp/221 tq/11.5 comp ratio). Other than the engine and some wider wheels on the Cayman S, there arent too many other differences.

Hope that helps!

Christian

what PorscheC4 stated is 2009 and up but I will add my input
2.9 liter = same brakes as S now prior to 09 they were slightly smaller but the 2.7 or 2.9 brake calipers are Black on the S they are Red in all years
S model has white Gauges 2.9 and 2.7 liters is blackin all years
6 speed is optional all years of the base Cayman but 95% are 5 speed
so good luck on finding a 6 speed ,You wont
Remove the Rear Deck Cayman S Emblem and get some aftermarket wheels ,colored Gauge face plates in various colors and your good as gold IMO .No one can tell its not the S model .

if you are talking about the new one, I think both are now 6 speed. 5 speed was true pre '09

The main thing about the Cayman S is the engine upgrades. The Cayman S has the direct injected engine which allows incredible response and horsepower for the engine. The regular Cayman is not Direct injected.
