Not sure it makes a big difference. The notable ones are PDK and 18" wheels. The rest is just fluff like heated seat, bluetooth, windstop, auto climate, floormats, UAI, etc.
Ain't bad. Earlier this year 08's going for well, Cayman S listed at $62.6K I bought for $50.6K. Boxsters were being offered at similar and better discounts.
No guarantee same time after the 1st of the year will be as good a buyer's market as same time this year. And I know at some point the buys were flying off the lots and the selection was getting pretty thin. Still nice cars but the cars left were the more heavily optioned cars and were while discounted quite a bit more money.
But at one point I found 08 Boxster "demos" were going for $20K off list. Had one dealer offer me an 08 RS60 Boxster for $56K and salesman told me there was probably a few thousand more dollars discount to be had should I be interested.
At some point you have to act or lose out, so it is a matter of how really how lucky you are. I haven't followed the market this year as much cause I'm not teh market for another Porsche but I don't get the feeling the dealers have as much overstock as they had last year.
But remember this: 09's are "one" year old now that the 2010 models are out and there are some good deals to be had.
