Well, it looks like Porsche is finally addressing the HPFP problem in some early 987.2 and 997.2 DFI cars. It looks like there is Service Campaign WB08 which is intended to replace HPFP's on some cars (VIN related). I only found out about it in the 997.2 Forum on a thread about this same subject (BTW, my HPFP failed in my 2009 997.2 C4S at about 12,000 miles). I don't think it is an official recall (where they notify you) but if you call your Porsche service advisor or have your car into the dealer for some other service issue, they will flag your car via the VIN and will arrange to have the HPFP replaced. I have my 2009 Boxster S scheduled for this replacement in a couple days. Finally, we have some relief for this known problem.

If you have an 2009 Boxster S/Cayman S DFI car, check with your Porsche service advisor to see if your car needs this replacement done. It will save you a lot of heartburn later if it should ever fail.

I was at the dealer the other day, was told some 11's have bad HPFP's. They ran the VIN on my '12, was ok. It's not just '09's.

Fuel pump replaced

Just got the car back (09 911S) after fuel pump replacement. Had a dash indicator telling me to "go to workshop". oslt?
Porsche replaced the pump and delivered the car back to me in about four hours.
The way the car drives now I suspect the pump was bad from the beginning.
I'm wondering if they are replacing the pumps with a modified model or the same style pump?

Service reciept reads:

Check engine light is on
Found codes P0431,P2099,P2196,P2198 and PP2A04
The codes set (sent?) from the DFI high pressure pump not keeping up with the demand of the engine.
Replace DFI high pressure pump
