A couple of mysteries under the hood
I recently got a new battery put in while my '05 Boxster S was in the shop, and when I looked in the battery compartment, I noticed two things--one that looks like some kind of vacuum hose and one electrical connector. Here are pix of each. Any insight out there?

Vent tube
Top pic looks like the vent tube for your battery. No idea what the electrical connection is for.

Vent tube--thank you. I think I need some kind of adapter to make the tube fit the new battery--it's an Interstate MTP 48/H6.

No ideas on the electrical connector anyone?
