Just curious ...I heard thatPorsche was skeptical when the production started so they agreed to give the buyer a 10 year contract which basically gave the buyer a " first right of refusal" on any specialty car such as a limited production of 911 .......so these buyers finally gave their large deposits and the 918's were built ... So now they get first rights to the 911 R ..... Anyone know about this ??

Basically the rich get richer. The 911 GT3RS and 911R is like a 300k refund off the 900k 918, if this goes another cycle an owner could flip enough of these limited cars to bring the 918 down to 400k . After the 10 years is up sell the 918 for who knows how much? Anyway you look at it the rich get richer and have the enjoyment of these special cars.

 

The car was worth buying just for the VIP program! I absolutely love the GT3RS, GT3, and expect my 911R to arrive in October. There will always be people trying to make $$ on their cars but for me, I can't seem to part with none of them as I love every one of them. As a VIP, you get more then first right of refusal, you get access to every Porsche event worldwide! I know a guy who sold his 911R allocation for 540K over sticker....I get call from everywhere to include overseas as people want to by my 911R allocation but I tell them that I'm not interested.

How much was the 918 when new, like $900K? How much are they going for now $1.5 mill to almost $3 mill? That $900K seems like a bargain now doesn't it?
