Continental Extreme Contact DWS

I just had these installed on my 2006 CS Tit about 2 weeks ago. 275/45/19. These replaced a set of the stock Michelin Latitude HP Sports that had 45k on them.

Initial impressions. As the Contis are new, naturally they feel a bit more 'plush' than a set of tires with 45k on them. The response was a bit crisper with the Michelins. But, with the upcoming winter season, I expect the Contis to shine in the snow. The Michelins were getting a bit slippery in last winters' storms. The Contis seem to have a bit more sidewall, and are a bit 'plain looking', but they fill the wheel wells a bit more than the Michelins. The tread pattern is awesome on the Continentals.

I think the Contis are a good year-round compromise for a daily driver. I push the pepper a bit on the highways and some back road twisties, but the car will not see a track or autocross.

Definitely a good tire. I also put these on to replace my summer tires. Not as good handling compared to the Diamaris, but a whole heck of a lot better for all of the seasons of the year.

Nice review! How much did you pay and what were the treadwear ratings?

Price and install

I picked these up through TireRack, about $225 per tire, not including the ~$50 shipping charge on all four to my 'recommended installer'. The local installer did a good job, didn't push unnecessary work on me, and charged about ~$180 to mount and balance, including NJ taxes.

The only other choice for a 'all season' tire, in my mind, was putting the Michelin HP Tour back on again, N-Rated, but they were ~$300 per tire, and from the reviews I think the Contis will perform better in the bad weather.

Time will tell.
