Does PDCC make a hum???

It's there in the new ones as well at idle. I had a 11 CS without PDCC and then 11 CTT with PDCC. The CTT had the hum.

i also have this problem on my 08 turbo with PDCC, hums at idle and really bad when truck is warm and in drive but not moving. I changes tone when you turn the wheel right and left. I was thinking it was the power steering pump. I'm pretty sure the sound comes from the drivers side area above the battery under the plastic.

Your not alone
I have a 2011 CTT with PDCC and mentioned the odd noise coming from front wheels while turning at low speeds. The service advisor mentioned the combination of air suspension and PDCC constantly adjusting firmness and ride height and that is the source of the noise. Just a disclaimer, I might not be explaining it correctly but it made sense to me when he told me.

Interesting responses. It seems like the noise couild possibly be attributed to PDCC. Thanks!
I wish someone knew the excat root cause though. I.E. Like the motor that controls the adjustable sway bars.

Only hum I ever get is the left hand dash area, changes pitch every now and then, only goes away if heater is switched off. Really quite annoying when it gets loud, thinking a relay or something is making my noise??? Heater motor has been replaced according to my records for being "noisy"-go figure.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. My "new-to-me" 2008 Cayenne Turbo also makes a humming noise at idle that changes pitch with revs (eventually the engine/exhaust drowns out the noise around 3k RPM). Anyone confirm the culprit?

Direct Injection sound perhaps?

My '08 has the hum as well. They replaced the power steering pump and it quieted it down for a few thousand miles but it is back now. The pump has to work hard to flow to the sway bars, which are under constant adjustment. Some pumps make noise and some don't, I have done a fair bit of power steering pump work on various vehicle, mostly race cars/buggies that we were hot rodding pumps for to increase steering pressures and volumes.
