where did you get the silver-look grill inserts? I've been thinking about doing the same to my CS but everything i've seen is either mesh or too expensive

I agree the OEM replacements are too expensive. Which is why I took out the stock black grilles and got them professionally painted by my local auto body shop. Just make sure they do a flat look topcoat to match the window and body trims. There are no paint code for the factory aluminium look finish.
