brake pads and rotor diy

I'm getting ready to order the parts to do my brakes. (06 cayenne s titanium)

Besides pads, rotors, sensors, are there any other hardware bits that I should order too?

Going w zimmerman slotted rotors and hawk hps pads per recommendations from the board.

If you are doing the rears, you need the 12 point spline socket.
I bought mine in a pack of 8 but I am pretty sure its 16mm.

Check here (amazon): http://www.amazon.com/Assenmacher-AS.../dp/B002YK763S

"
6300 X-16 - for R and R of manual transmission drain plug and VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne brake caliper bolts"

That's the one.

you only need that if your taking off the caliper which it sounds like you dont have to do.^

the pins will be a sob to get out, dont be afraid to wail on them. use pb blaster.

after they are out its a breeze put the pins in a drill and clean them with sand paper.
why porsche would make this the only part of the car that rusts is beyond me.

You don't have to beat on the pins.

"Remove fastening screw at retainer pin.
Subsequently screw in auxiliary screw M8. Hold
down expanding springs with -a screwdriver- and
remove retainer pin."

The pin is pushed out when u screw in the auxiliary screw metric #8, the expanding springs if not held down will block the pin from coming out. There is nothing wrong with the design.

I may have goofed. In haste, I ordered the hardware kit for a 380mm rotor instead of 350mm

Can anyone confirm or deny that the hardware will still work?
