From two different sources, one says that the RS Spyder is a forged wheel, while the other says differently.

Wheel Enhancement says it's cast...

Not sure which is right, however, according to the 2011 Product Info book on the Cayenne, only the 21" turbo wheels are identified as forged- pls see attached.

 

I don't believe they are forged

 

only 21 is forged, or the similar looking 19" for the carrera.

 

According to the new 2011 Cayenne Tequipment book, the 20 inch RS spyder wheels are forged. Just found these notes:

- 21 inch Cayenne Sport Edition Wheels - Cast Alloy
- 21 inch 911 Turbo II Wheels - Forged Alloy
- 20 inch RS Spyder Design Wheels - Forged Aluminum Alloy
- 20 inch Cayenne Sport Design II - Alloy
- 18-19's are also labeled as Alloy

Is there anyway anyone can weigh it? If it is forged I'm curious if it weighs less than the stock cast CS wheels because most high quality forged wheels are.

I was just curious since I just bought a set of 20" RS Spyders for my 2011 CS. I was worried they were going to look really small, but on a Classic Silver CS, it looks great. I'll post some pics later...

Ride wise: The car actually rides better vs. my stock 19" Cayenne Design wheels. It's probably the better rubber - the new RS Spyders have Michelin Latitude Sport. A great tire - similar tread pattern to their PS2s. I think this is the best tire choice for the Cayenne.
