Headlights always on

I'm new to the Cayenne so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I searched for a previous thread on this and found nothing.

Does the Cayenne always have running headlights day or night? This morning on the way to work, I noticed that the lights were on so I thought maybe my sensor was bad so I turned my lights to manual off and they were still on. Until I turned the car off the lights were on inside and out. It is a bright sunny day so I was wondering if this is just what an 06 Cayenne does?

I have a 06. And the lights will come on and stay on pulling out of a dark garage into daylight. But no daytime running lights that i know of.

It doesn't take much dark to cut mine on. But as for the 100mph thing sounds almost tempting to see if mine will do the same...you know for scientific purposes.

I'm in Costa Rica so any traffic infraction cost $100 on the spot.

Weirdly the previous owner of mine had the headlights rewired so that they are on permanently. The wiring harness was removed from the track and is held into the back of the light fixture with a metal bracket, i assume it had something to do with a loose connection that was causing bulbs to burn out.

There is an option of getting the lights to be on during the day.

It is via a programming change to the system using the PIWIS at the dealer.
