My Dealer wanted over $400 for an oil change, and i just couldn't wrap my head around that, so what i did was bought the Durametric software (Enthusiast version) so that i could reset the service intervals, bought the OEM filter and Plug/gasket from suncoast parts. Brought the filter and plug up to a reputable service station by me had them provide mobile 1 0W40 10qts.

Durametric one time cost $298

Filter and plug about $30
Oil and Labor $140

so my recurring cost is $170 per 10K miles, 2 oil changes made the difference to cover the durametric and I had the satisfaction of knowing I wasn't being ripped.

 

My indy only charges me $25 for labor when i bring my own oil and filter. And i'm in the bay with him doing other inspections.

My wife changes mine. She is 57 years old. Get a grip folks, do it yourself. We change every 5000 miles, oil and filter.
