Question Carfax says Airbag Deployment Accident, Autocheck Says None- 09 GTS

Hi All,
Still on the hunt and found what appeared to be a nice 09 GTS, which was traded at a local dealer for a new Escalade, in Dallas. Dealer has been very transparent and sent me both a Carfax and Autocheck...Carfax says:
Accident reported
It hit a motor vehicle
Moderate right front damage reported
Front airbag deployed

This accident occurred in 2011, but the exact date was not reported to CARFAX.

Autocheck says:
Your vehicle checks out! There have been no accidents reported to AutoCheck for this 2009 Porsche Cayenne GTS (WP1AD29P79LA63238).AutoCheck receives its accident data from government sources and independent agencies,
and based on the information available to us, we have found that no accidents have been reported on this vehicle. Not all accidents or damage events are reported to AutoCheck.

Would it ever be possible that Carfax is wrong? Also, Carfax says car was initially purchased on 10/17/10 with 13K miles already on the odometer. The Suncoast VIN decoder shows the car's warranty beginning 11/08, so why would there be no owner listed for the first two years and 13K miles of the car's life? I found the original listing for the sale at 13K miles cached from Park Place Porsche...would this have been that dealer's own car or a loaner?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

I would do a Pre Purchase Inspection at Porsche. Usually Carfax is pretty dead on. I honestly would trust carfax more then I would autocheck.

not all insurance companies have a direct connection with both autocheck and carfax so that is why sometimes only one has a reports and not the other. I have come across several instances when autocheck has an accident and carfax does not and vice versa. Best thing to do is to run both and to have a PPI done!

rbb1991 will become famous soon enough
A good ppi should reveal whether or not it has been in an accident.

Agree that PPI is the way to go with this one. Thanks for the input!

I do not like Autocheck, a full report and cheap online vincheck.expert.
