1st oil change in my06cayenne s

Getting The First Oil Change Since Purchasing The Pepper In April. Total Out Of Pocket Is Going To Be $82. I Must Be Dreaming? I Did Purchase My Own Oil And Filter. Found A Good Indy In My Area That Is Only Charging $25 For Labor.

OIL: $50
FILTER: $7
LABOR: $25

Doing my own costs me around $100. 9 quarts of Mobil 1 0W40 @ $8ish a piece and an oil filter for $17-20. And about 45 minutes of my time.

i would do it myself but i just don't have the time. I haven't change my own oil since my oldsmobile. Lol! Why not get the 5 quart jugs of mobil 1? It's cheaper.

There are many posts on here about oil, and you should use what you feel is best for you.
I switched to Castrol Edge 5W40 and have. Gotta catch it on special at Autozone once in a while - 5Qt+oil filter (not for CTT though - I get for wife's car) - about $33 or so total. I get two of these specials each time, and get filter from Advance Auto Parts (never seemed to find one at Autozone), or from online.

I doubt you will be able to do oil change on this car for $25.
Filter will cost you at least $12. Oil, at least $60 (10 Qt of cheapest you can get estimate for Tmobil 0W40). You are looking under $80 for DIY. Going to a shop will double it.
Best do yourself. You know you have everything tightened, inspect each time to ensure no surprises. Proactive drivers do this.

Good luck.

Not saying you can do an oil change for $25, just that you can buy(just the oil) 5 quarts of Mobile1 0-40 for $25 at Wally world.

I have to buy so much oil that I had to buy an additional drain pan. everytime I pull the plug in both my vehicles I get 21 Qts out. And the 15 qt pan isnt going to hold that.
I usually do buy a jug with 4 additional qts for the porsche. Not a big fan of castor oil.

1st oil change in my 11 Cayenne

My first oil change since I purchased my Peppa (18,000 mls) is coming up in 5 days according to her count down. How easy/difficult is it to DIY?

Thanks!

Lou

the worst part is removing the skid plates, and make sure you have a 8mm alan key to take both plugs out. The filter is right behing the front bumper should be hand tight. To me it was a rewarding process.

Im not sure if the 957 under carage is the same as the 955 but I think it will atleast get you in the ball park. Why not save the money and do it yourself, take the money you save and put it in the gas tank.

You have a V6, right? They are very different. There is one drain plug (18 or 19mm), and the filter housing is located in the driver's side engine mount bracket. It's almost impossible to get the filter out without getting oil everywhere due to its location. Not a hard job, just usually messy.

Thanks for the tip...I just bought 4 of them for my next changes on the 2 cayennes.
I bought my last 5qt jug at Advanced auto for $33 & that was the best price I could find before this price tip.
Thanks again...alway nice to save a few bucks.
