Durametric cable use on a Mac

So until my latest job, I always used a PC laptop, etc. Now, I had to switch to a MacBook, and wonder how (if any) many of you use the cable on a Mac with success. I believe the software is windows only and I wish there was a Mac solution for it. Thanks.

VMware Fusion or Virtual PC. Let's you run Windows and MacOS at the same time. With Fusion running when I plug in a USB device, like the Durametric cable, it asks whether to link it to the MacOS or Windows. You can also do Boot Camp which gives you the option to boot either MacOS or Windows.

Rather than pay for VMWare or Parallels AND Windows, I use Oracle's VirtualBox which is free and I have found to be just as good as the big name options.
