Whining noise when i let go off the gas pedal
Hey guys,
My 04 CTT is making a whining noise everytime i let off the gas pedal. WHen im accerlerating and my foots on the gas pedal theres no noise but it starts just as soon as i get off. Its louder at higher speeds. Few weeks ago I had to put my 22`s back one while my winter wheels were getting painted and the noise was even louder with the 22`s but not as loud with my 19`s.
I keep reading online on different forums that this may be related to my differential. Is this trueÉ If so, would a differential fluid change help with this?

The sound changing when going on or off the power is indicative of a diff issue. Changing the diff oil would help as it would give you the opportunity to examine the diff oil you are removing for metal particles which would give you a better idea of the magnitude of your diff issue, if it indeed is this.
I am nursing a similar problem on my Cayenne S, which is also an 04. She had a seal leak on the diff which was fixed by the dealer during the major service at around 210 000 km , but I think damage was already done and the sound became significant at around 240 000 km with a minor vibration on the steering now and then , at which point I changed the fluid, and fine metal particles in the fluid confirmed the problems. I am busy trying to source a replacement front diff.
