Stuck Piston

Hi guys

I`ve picked up a 2008 Cayenne Turbo and its a sweet ride!

Still in the process of ironing out a few bugs, one of which is a stuck piston in the brake caliper

I got it to move slightly by inserting one of these into it and turning

Got it about a quarter turn but its still not free so can these callipers be rebuilt (new piston, seal & dust cover) or am I looking at a new caliper

Thanks in advance

depends on how long you drive it with stuck pistons and how experienced in such repairs you are.

Not sure if I plan to fix this myself - might be a little out of my comfort zone.

I figured I`d give the piston a little turn to see if it'd free up but its too far gone I reckon. Needs a new piston for sure.

So my options are:

1) Source and fit a new caliper

2) Source and fit an exchange refurbed caliper

3) Take it to a repair shop locally and get them to refurb my own unit

How hard are Brembo brakes to work on? Is this something any brake place can attempt or does it need to be a high end Brembo repair place?

I *might* attempt to swap the calipers if I get an new/exchange unit and bleed but I`m still debating that

I've exchanged mine in local brakes repair shop for repaired for $200. and for bad caliper body that cant be repaired they charge extra 100 for each.

You can try to refurb them, but honestly a new caliper on an 08 is around $600 US (dated back in 2014). I would opt for a new caliper and move on.
