Idle surging

Idle surging
Just picked up ctt the other day after a few days at dealer, they said they sorted the rev surging but alas it's still there. I have been told that all turbo's do this. It seems strange to me I am struggling to reverse out of my garage properly. It only happens when engaging a gear and only after leaving it overnight, if I leave it idling then it does the normal high idle cat warmup thingy but remains stable at about 1200rpm.
My thoughts are perhaps the clutch grabbing, she has 80,000km, maybe need new fluid, or maybe torque converter.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

My CTT has been parked for about 2 weeks as I have been away, so I decided to pay special attention to the idle when I started her up this morning, after reading your post.
She starts and goes into high idle at around 1200rpm , the idle immediately dropped to the normal 580 rpm when I select reverse. (I made a point of only idling for about 10 seconds before selecting reverse). Smooth idle at 580 rpm, no surging while reversing out of the garage.
If the surging is normal , than my CTT is not "normal"

Thanks DLF, I was at Porsche JHB today, tested another 2007 turbo, and guess what, same idle surge as mine. Spoke to sales guy and he chatted to the lead technical guy, and apparently it has something to do with the high pressure fuel pump needing to get up to pressure, normal according to him. Hmmm, so why doesn't yours? Anyway, it seems I am destined to be stuck with this problem.
Thanks for checking your car though, much appreciated.

I have a few mods (E81 throttle body and intake and secondary cat bypass pipes) but these shouldn't make a difference, or maybe they do.
I thought the buzzing sound heard when opening the drivers door was the fuel pumps priming, or is that something else?
Maybe I have a fuel pump issue lurking
