Show of hands how many of you had to replace the wiper motor?
Looks my windshield wiper motor died on my 2005 Cayenne Turbo with 57k miles. I did a quick search on the internet and this looks to be a fairly common problem with this series Cayenne. Has anyone else had to do a wiper motor and if so what mileage did it fail at?

I've had another problem with wiper. There's bronze bushings in wiper mechanism, that sometimes get stuck. Even wiper motor gets fried because of that. But mine wiper motor somehow survived that. It broke off assembly mount on drivers side instead. Repairs required welding aluminium. Of course, if you have to change wiper motor, I suggest take apart all assembly and clean bushings, rods and lubricate them with some motocross chain lube - it keeps dirt outside of bushings. Cleaning process is easy - P500 wet sanding paper and low speed drill - just to smoothen out scrached surface and remove rust and other nastiness. I marked breaking point of assembly in picture.
P.S Since then, I've welded wiper on another three cayennes.

I finally did the job today. It wasn't hard but leave it to the Germans to over complicate things. LOL! I made a "how to" video of the job below that will hopefully help other members. I think the biggest surprise was the cost of the replacement wiper motor F*(*^%$# was that expensive!
