Thermally and Noise Insulated Privacy Glass

What are the pros and cons of getting this feature on a 2013 CTT I am ordering. Will the windows really keep the heat out of my car. Also, does the panoramic roof come in the insulated windows. Will the tollroad stickers work on the windshield.

I had it on my last one and not on the new one. I didn't notice much difference but the thicker glass laminate probably was quieter but not real noticeable. iMHO it's an unnecessary option unless you need some 'bullet proof glass' for small calibre weapons.

Test drove both on an interstate. Mild difference with radio off. With radio on didn't notice at all.

What about the heat? I've read in some places that this is just for the roof and rear windows but that doesn't make much sense to me. Is it for the whole car?

Just get some ceramic window tints. Cheaper and better heat blockage.

Have it on my CT but not on the Panamera loaner currently driving.
Before driving without it, I thought it had more effect on noise and less on heat.
After a week in the Panamera, it's the opposite.
Also, the panoramic roof is not the same material.

Do you not find it very effective in reducing outside noise?
I forgot to add it when ordering my CT,and my dealer never brought it up
So now I do wonder how well it works.

I think it is worth the money - I left the car for 2 hours in boiling heat in Arizona and came back to find that inside it was warm, not hot as it used to be in my ML.

They effectively seal two glass panels and it's quite cool to roll down the window and see the bullet proof like effect and 2 windows glued

Noise wise it's also worth it for me because my cayenne is used as a long distance drive - long road trips etc so I want to feel comfortable

In the 911 on the other hand I'd like to hear the engine sound

Also regarding noise - I definitely feel the effects because overall the car is quiet with or without the radio - and because of the less ambient noise I think you get less tired.

If you get the Cayenne - the most important option for me is Change lane assist. It really is a life saver - must get

Agree with Alex on Lane Change and the Glass.
The double pane definitely makes the car quieter but the Cayenne is already well insulated for noise. You definitely can tell a difference in sound, but the heat reduction is more striking especially when the temperature approaches 90.

I know this is an older thread, but I have a question.... In the process of ordering a 2014 Cayenne GTS and was wondering if I order the pano roof and thermal glass, is the pano roof thermally insulated or just the side windows? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just the side windows. You can always tint the sunroof too, I've left mine as is.

Cheers,

I assumed the windshield was part of the noise insulating glass option. There are two different option codes for Windshield heating - one with the thermal insulation option and one without. That would seem like an unusual option choice if the heated windshield is not affected by the noise insulation option.
