Taking plunge on knock off rims!!

Taking plunge on knock off rims!!
I know, I know....putting knock offs on a $100k car is stupid, but they are for winter tires and will be on for 3-4 months. Can't bring myself to spend 3, 4 or 5k on used OEM Turbo IIs. $895 shipped sounds fine by me.
Also know I'm an idiot for going with 21 inch snow tires, but I bought my GTS pre-owned and it came with 21" Conti winter tires.
Next decision is to TPMS or not to TPMS. Is the warning light on the dash just the little tire light like most cars or will I have all sorts of issues with PCM and crazy warnings?
Anyway, figured I'd let you folks beat on me a bit for a dumb decision! Will let you know how it goes!

I'm going winter tires and wheels on my CD. If you get any serious snow where you live, definitely down-size those wheels and get something not as wide for snow -- as skinnier tires will always do better in snow.
As for TPMS, spend the $250 to have them installed so you don't have to drive a $100k car with a warning light on for 1/3 of the year.
For my money, I'll likely do a set of winter tires and wheels from the Tire Rack. At least those will come with a warranty and a major wheel manufacturer standing behind them should something go wrong.
Just my opinion anyway...

All very valid points! I've always been a believer of downsizing for winters and I've bought more wheel and tire packages from Tire Rack than I can remember. One of the best companies I've ever dealt with over the years. I just want to take advantage of the "free" snow tires I have and they are 21s. I'll likely order the TPMS sensors as well.
We'll see what happens. If one bends or vibrates or the like...lesson learned.

From what I have seen the TPMS sensor and valve stem necessary for it (for Cayennes made during the last few years) costs about $115 per wheel ($460 for the vehicle) uninstalled.
If I am missing something or you know of a cheaper place, please let me know.

After some cursory research, I actually went ahead and ordered the HUF 433Mhz Cayenne TPMS sensors and valve stems for $189.00 for the set of 4. Add whatever is costs to get everything mounted and balanced and I can't imagine the TPMS part of the project will be much more than $250. Whether these work or not is another question all together!
I'm sure OEM sensors are much more expensive.

The price I was quoting was about what Tire Rack was adding them to in some winter tire and wheel packages I was pricing out the other day. I'm not sure what they'd cost individually. I've also read on here that the sensors on the 15-16 models is different than older models. I was pricing on my '16 CD, so I'd hope that Tire Rack would install the correct sensors when they mount & balance the wheels.

I have a 2015 and ordered the Tire Rack TPMS for my snow tires..and they work great. Paid $252 a year ago including new valves.

I'm thinking of getting a set of 20s and I think I have it narrowed down to these 3:

Reasons I'm leaning towards the 20's are the tires are cheaper, and I'll have a little less to worry about on these Michigan roads.

+1, had them on 2 different BMW's and no issues. You would be fine with 21's as long as you get an all season performance tire like the conti dws 06.

i really want the 21" rims but i know it will be nothing but trouble.
the roads in michigan get very bad after each winter. i know my wife will occasionally drive the car, and that's my biggest worry about the 21" rims.
on her cts with 18" rims, we've had 1 cracked rim and 7 tires replaced (the way she takes to work has a ton of potholes). thank god for the $35 a month wheel/tire insurance we got with her lease.

It was an eBay seller. It has been a couple of years but let me try to look it up. Stay tuned.

option 1 are the stock mecan GTS rims.
noticed a listing on craiglist for a set of 20" rs spyder rims. planning on checking them out this week if they are OEMs.
if they don't work out, i'll go with option 3.
question is black or gun metal? the car is umber metalic
