Thumbs down Rear door lift on Cayenne 2012

Has anyone had a problem with the lift button on the drivers door not lifting the rear truck door? It used to go right up when I quickly pressed the button on the door panel, and now, it only opens about 3" and stops. You then either open it manually, if someone doesn't understand there is an electric button on the bottom of the door, or, you press that button on the rear door and it goes right up? Mine stopped working right about a month ago and now the Porsche dealer is saying that that's the way it is on the 2012. I don't agree. I have been given a new one to drive while mine is in the shop and it lifts right up when the DS Button is pushed quickly.

Definitely not the way it is supposed to work.

You can actually configure the door to only open to a certain position. Not sure how that could accidentally get set though but worth checking it out. I don't remember the steps but it is in the manual.

Yeah, it probably thinks you set it that way. It's in the manual.

Dealer insists that the 2012s were a press and hold feature on the button, not a one touch. I disagree. It was working

i never really used the driver side door button to open the trunk but mine does the same exact thing youre describing. if i just push it and release, it will go up a little and then shut. I have to hold it down in order for it to go up all the way. another thing that's been annoying me is if i use the memory seats, everytime i turn the car off all my settings disappear, but when i have it off they stay?

I missed in the OP that you were using the door button. That button DOES need to be held untilthe trunk hatch is all the way up. And the car has to be on at the time. If you release the button or turn off the car it will stop.

The key fob doesn't work that way. One press should open it.

On my 2013, you press the door button once and the trunk opens all the way, there is no need to hold.

I have a 2011 and you have to hold the button to get the gate to go all the way up. If you release the button it will stop.
