eHybrid- NEMA 14-50 vs 14-50R
My garage has a 14-50R (from my Tesla) and the Cayenne came with a 14-50 cable that doesn't fit.
Does anyone know if Porsche has a 14-50R cable or do I need an electrician to come out?
Thanks-

strange. Are you sure they are both 14-50s? Maybe pin is not aligned or bent. Can you take pics?

If you are thinking of swapping out the receptacle all together - you don't technically need an electrician. If it was a 14-50 or even a nema 6-50, all you need to do is pick up the appropriate receptacle from Home Depot or Lowes , turn off the breaker, swap the receptacles and you are done.
I had an issue where my wire was a hardwire adapter that came with the vehicle and I already had a Nema 6-50 installed in my garage - Porsche's answer was a $475 new Nema 6-50 adapter to plug into the charger - my solution was a $18 Leviton 6-50 male plug end that I attached to the hardwire pigtails and plugged in. Works like a champ.

I apologize for my inexperience, but how does one go about making an adapter?

take a picture of the receptacle in the wall and another of the end of the cable that you say doesn't fit and post it here to better help you.

This is the 14-50R receptacle.
The 14-50 plug is the standard one from Porsche

Yes- that is it. I will try again tonight but it appears that the 2 prongs that are parallel to one another are spaced differently on the 14-50 vs the 14-50R
