Having difficulty with the H7 retaining clips. I've seen a few threads with owners mentioning they've accomplished this, but no specifics or tutorials.

I got my HID kit from Retrofit Source. I got retaining clips here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/252303303258

Neither those, nor the OEM clips want to fit. The HID base is too fat/deep to clear it.

Any suggestions?

 

I used a dremel to round out a bit of the inside of the metal clip, that was the only way I was able to get the clip to fit tightly into the base of the bulb - I bought mine from DDM tuning so the base on yours might be a little different. I haven't had any issues and when I twist the bulb into the socket it fits snugly.
