halograms or swirls?
what s the difference between halograms and swirls... Best product to remove on dark color. Did my car and thought it looked perfect until the low morning sun hit it and the side was a little hazy in spots.

so I ve tried both white and orange pads, pinnicle swirls remover, Reflect polish, 3m finesse it, 3m compound for dark cars and even power cut compound. Tried different combos like compound then polish. Nothing seems to make a big change.
Using very slow passes from 4-6 speed on the PC. Advise?

Not holograms. Just swirls/light scratches. You are going to have to step up the aggressiveness of your pad or compound, perhaps both to see what the paint 'likes' and what you are happy with as a final result.
Just remember to use the least aggressive method first--this may take a while to get dialed in. I find that some vehicles/paint types like different combinations.
This is an excellent article on the different types of defects:

Hope this helps you out...I know it's not a definitive answer...

Thanks, I got scared because nothing I ve tried from my stock has cleared this up. So I did order Menzerna fg400 heavy cut and micro fiber cutting pad (as the strongest), then got a med menzerna 2500 polish and a ultra finish 3800. I ve tried my compounds and Reflects and Pinnicle products none of which worked. Only used a orange pad and white so far. I figure the stuff I ordered should give me a wide enough range. I ve lost some confidence that I will be able to clear this up. I hear your advise about stepping up the cut. Anyone else? Is it possible it won t come out by looking at the pics?

• Halo-scratches - (swirl marks or spider webs) which, when the light reflects off the raised edges of the scratches, appear to be circular but in reality they are made up of numerous straight line random scratches which are caused by washing, drying and everyday wear and tear. Some are surface marring, whereas others can be deep into the clear coat.
