GP Automotive Renewal Service - MX Sig - PPF/Paint Correction/Nano
Tesla Model X has been a game-changer in the automotive industry. We were fortunate to work on one of the first Signature Editions in Southern California early this year. Better late than never, but here's her journey. I hope you find it informative and entertaining
This Signature X went through a few procedures. We first began with our Rejuvenation service which focuses on getting a proper baseline for following services. The goal of this initial process is to decontaminate all surfaces and get back to original look and see what we have to work with. Believe it or not, these initial phots are common now with new cars we work on. Being Tesla and Porsche specialist, it's another day at the office
Wheels cleaned and tires treated with citrus cleaner to reveal the natural rubber look
We only use Australian Lambs Wool wash mitt with a mild soap to clean the paint
Paint and wheels further decontaminated. When we say clean, we truly mean it as there are several redundancies in our routine to assure the cleanest surface for the following steps. Each process builds on the previous steps
The sheading effect is our visual queue that surface has no tension and as clean as we can be free of any wax or protectants
After 2.5 hours, this Model X is ready to enter the asylum. All exterior and door jam surfaces cleaned, decontaminated, and dried
Once we have a clean surface as it relates to the paint, we can truly examine what we have to work with. In this, we noticed many microdots of clear coat along with factory sand marks. Too much imperfection for us to clear bra over. It actually showed through the Suntek film. Next step, since repainting the entire front end was too drastic of a measure, was to skillfully wetsand the entire front end to remove the imperfections. This is where 20+ years of experience comes in

Our Advanced, custom, installation assures a seamless and edge-to-edge coverage
Door sills protected using a matte film to preserve the satin finish of sills
Nano coating, in this case CQuartz Finest, IR cured
Model X Signature truly ready for client ownership. Sometimes, better than new, is possible
In summary, nearly 60 hours was devoted to this project. I hope this project illustrates the value proposition when working with an installer that is a Tesla specialist, experienced in paint correction/nano coatings/clear bra. Several trades and specialties were required for this project, making it a very advanced execution.
Knowing how to solve a problem is just as important as diagnosing the problem. We all love what we do here at GP and giving this Model X the attention it truly needed and deserved, was a pleasure to us just as much as the end result was for the owner
