New here, first post, wish it was a happier one. Just bought my first Porsche - 2009 Cayenne Turbo S, new from dealer 5 miles on odometer. Great deal.
Options:
Basalt Black Metallic
Black/Havanna Bicolor Leather
Panoramic Roof System
Roll-up Sunscreens,
Rearview Camera including Park Assist
21" Sportplus Wheel with Wheel Arch Extension
Light Comfort Package w/ Driver Memory Package
Sports Seats with Comfort Memory Package
Interior Wood PH4 Dark Wood Package with Gear Selector Lever
Audio and Communications 9W5 Bluetooth Handsfree Phone Interface
XM Satellite Radio
Universal Audio Interface

So I take delivery and begin the 2 mile drive home, beep - oil pressure sensor failure light comes on. Call dealer "seen that simple flash"
Back to dealer next day, they drive same light, flash computer, drive same light. By the way they smelt coolant and changed coolant housing while they were at, (to their credit). Keep car another day and inform me needs new oil pump, no part in US have to find one in Germany, not sure when part will arrive and then it does 2-3 days to replace pump. So to finish my vent have owned CTS for 4 days, 3 at dealer and 1 at my home with at least another week at dealer maybe more. I am so bummed out by all this :( feel violated as techs poke away at my brand new $100k+ vehicle with <50 miles on it. How concerned should I be or am I overreacting and all will be well soon? By far the most I ever spent on a vehicle and never expected this. Have nightmares that after 1-2 weeks in shop this fix fails and I am back at square one.
Thanks in advance.

Anyone have a preference as to which is a better purchase. I know the hp, but am asking more specific questions about does one have more problems than the other.

Also, if anyone has any ideas or knows of one for sale. Very lightly used!!!!! not hard driven, not a lot of miles. :)

worth waiting for a 2011?
any new changes coming for them?
need more power than my GTS offers, and probably don't want the sport seats again.... not sure...

let me know.

I'm looking to update my '03 cs's look but I don't want to deal with crappy fiberglass front bumpers. Is my only option the turbo bumper from the same generation? are there any aftermarket kits that are urethane? is it possible to update to the latest generation turbo bumper if i replace the hood and headlights (or is there more to it?)
thanks in advance

as well it seems to make a lot of noises in slow turns. i know there was a problem when i had PDCC on my 2008 turbo - lots of people had the same clunking noise issue when you turned in parking lots and went over speed bumps etc - sold my turbo so fast it didn't really bug me.

anyway - the dealer is saying that the 2009 PDCC and Air has a problem that was apparently fixed in 2010. said i would post a thread to see if anyone else has had issues.

I was lucky enough to have a friend give me a brand new set of TSW Montage wheels as he is leaving the country. All 4 of the wheels are 20x10, 5-130mm bolt pattern..with a 50mm offset.

Question...what size tires should I run on these??? Could I run a 295/40/20 tire? I am afraid that a 275/40/20 tire will not fit properly on a 20x10 inch rim.

Thanks.

God,,, I'm banging myself on the table by not knowing the potential "plastic/rubber coolant pipe failure" on the 2006 Porsche Cayenne.

I should have known better, but unfortunately this was the only item that went over my head when I was in the market for SUV.

I know there is not a perfect car on the road, but things like this, fundamental design flaw or wrong material being used to manufacture this high performance SUV,,, really pisses me off.

Especially the mind set of Porsche is disgusting me. It almost seems like they intentionally made these well known flaws to collect $$$ after Cayenne owners w/o factory warranty.
(if not, they should at least offer to replace these faulty parts before the owners of Cayenne get stuck on the road due to the coolant pipe issue.)

How funny, now I'm wishing my coolant pipes to burst before the factory warranty expires, what a comfy feeling when driving my CS. And hopefully it happens right in front of the Porsche dealer.

Hi guys,
Lately I feel the car is sluggish off the start. When i hit the gas, in sport mode and first gear, the car makes the metallic noise from the bypass pipe and just rolls. Eventually it kicks in. It almost feel like its losing back pressure from the exhaust system. I dont think the bypass pipe is installed correctly, as it hits the metal crossbar when i first start the car. But would that contribute to the sluggishness? The 21 inch GTS wheels dont help either, they feel heavy! Any feedback is appreciated.

My 2010 Transsyberia is in for service to address some issues, and I'm driving a 2010 6cyl Cayenne with standard (non-air) suspension as a Service Loaner.

1.) While the drive train in this 6 cylinder TipTronic loaner does not have the giddayup and go of the GTS TipTronic in the Transsy, it is far smoother shifting through the gears when accelerating. The Transsy has harder shift points and seems to stumble or judder under mild acceleration, especially in 4th gear. This loaner does this not at all.

2.) The Service Loaner also seems to be smoother when going over RR tracks and speed bumps, in spite of my having the Transsy's air suspension set to "Comfort".

3.) The Service Loaner also probably has standard seating, as opposed to the sports seats of the Transsy; and it feels like there is a smidgen more room in the loaner. Related is the fact that after only 750 miles on the Transsy, the Alcantara seating surface of the driver's seat already has permanent creases.

4,) The standard leather wrapped steering wheel on the Loaner has a much better feel and grip than the Alcantara wrapped wheel on the Transsy.

Just some comparative observations.

If I press the Econ button to shut off the A/C compressor and turn the temp setting to its lowest value, it still pumps out heated air from the vents - even with an outside temp of 70-75° F..

Am I missing something, or is this just a fact of life with this car?
