Hello Guys,
I have planned a trip to see this car in person next week. If everything goes well, I will buy it. Just trying to see if any of you guys in the area know the car, or even better some forum member owned it. So i can get some first hand information. I don't want to be disappointed when i see it. hilarious

DME scan was very clean, only a few over revs in range 1. nothing in the higher range.
Carfax was very good too. One owner and so on.

I googled the VIN, then i found out it was for sale at park place porsche in August 09, but the sales man told me the previous owner traded it in for a white 997TT. This got me thinking a little bit.

Hope some local guys know the car!

Thanks alot for your help!
But major props to the owner for the body work to get this thing to fit so cleanly. Yes ladies and gents, that is a 98-02 Camaro rockin a morphed replica TechArt body kit. Not sure these came in the IROC, but this could be a SS. So get out your Lynard Skinard Cassettes and put the pedal to the metal! All the TA details are there: Front Bumper, Rear Bumper, and Side Skirts. Is this the highest form of flattery? I expect this to make its way around the internet community but of course, original at the Vivid Racing Blog.

Forged Alloys USA is please to announce its first two off-road championships with the amazing Tech1R-1000 Beadlock racing wheel.
On November 15th in Primm, Nevada, Carl Renezeder of team American Flyer went from five-time to seven-time national short course champion by winning the Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 titles in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series’ inaugural season.
The vehicle was equipped with the new forged Tech1R-1000, the world's lightest and strongest off-road racing wheel.
"We worked closely with Forged Alloys USA to develop this wheel", said the victorious Renezeder. "At 28 lbs, the "Superalloy" wheels were almost 12 pounds lighter than the competitive cast wheels. This turned out to be a significant winning advantage. Reducing unsprung weight by over 40 lbs is simply critical in a race vehicle with over 20 inches of suspension travel".
Congratulation to the whole American Flyer Team for a well-deserved victory!

The Tech1R is produced in the USA at the Forged Alloys USA facility in Oxnard, CA.

PTV and rear brake longevity

From the order guide, PTV: Actively enhances the driving dynamics and stability by enabling variable distribution of engine torque to the rear wheels...

From the order guide, PTV: Actively enhances the driving dynamics and stability by enabling variable distribution of engine torque to the rear wheels and mechanical limited-slip rear differential. Depending on the steering angle, steering speed, throttle pedal position, yaw velocity and vehicle speed, PTV optimizes steering response and precision by applying brake pressure to the left or right rear wheel as required.

Any thoughts on how PTV might adversely affect rear brake longevity when used on the track? We all know heavy track use can quickly chew through the rear pads. I wonder if PTV might make things worse. I am thinking PTV + track time + PCCB's = costly proposition.

Looking into ECU upgrades, need clutch advice.

Hello all,

I'm currently in the process of researching ECU upgrades for my baby and I need a bit of advice from the transmission gurus of this forum. Some of the advertised software gains from several tuners are quite impressive. Many look like they would shred though my OEM clutch despite having low miles. What have people found? Is an upgraded clutch immediately required or recommended?

I plan to run both our local 93 octane fuel and possibly Sunoco 100 octane, especially on track days. When I'm behind the wheel I'd say I have a heavy foot and I love the feeling I get ripping into it when no one else is around. I do plan to take the car to the track possibly once or twice next year for driving lessons but I'm not interested in drag racing.

Basically, what does everyone recommend for a driver like me?

Modification Plans
1. ECU Upgrade/software
2. 93 Octane daily and 100 Octane on special occasions.
3. Possibly a full exhaust depending on noise levels (still need to research).

Driving Habits/Plans
1. Mild daily driving. I drive the car after work more than once a week and on the weekends so it doesn't just sit in my garage.
2. Heavy foot off the line.
3. Heavy foot all the time to be honest.
5. Interested in driving lessons on the track.
6. No plans to drag race. (Only real racing for me!)

Clutch Feeling
1. I don't want an on/off switch if possible.
2. Would not mind keeping the OEM clutch if it can get me though one or two driving lessons on the track.

Thank you!

Ordered this from Rotec a couple weeks ago, same shape as Techart piece i had it painted body color but had the center section left dry carbon fiber, pleased with the outcome .Shall see how it wares as i now need to watch going in & coming out of driveways ,so far so good & no scraping. This piece is pretty subtle & doesn't change any lines just adds the 3rd air vent on the intercoolers & covers the mufflers which was my goal & kinda continues the low paint line around the car after you have the side skirts painted, the best effect is from the rear ,gives it a wider more aggressive stance IMHO .If i really had some balls i'd paint the front lip to complete the look LOL maybe next time.BTW Ray at Rotec was a pleasure to work with.

Programming is a simple, computer guided experience and requires hardly any user input. FVD-Brombacher supplies the customer with a USB cable which interfaces directly with the vehicles diagnostic port and our companion flash load software program. Read-out of the vehicles ECU takes place with the click of a button thru the vehicle-encrypted cable, which automatically creates and sends a file to a secure server at FVD-Brombacher Headquarters in Germany. Our software programmers then extract the file’s data, tune the software, then modify the program to suit the customer’s individual needs. Customers are able to express individual tuning requirements in a text field at the end of original file read-out before the program is sent to Germany. Here, the customer can input performance upgrades already installed on the vehicle and our programmers can adapt software tuning to extract maximum performance gains out of existing vehicle modifications. <o></o>

Hey everyone, I have a couple of questions for you.

First is regarding PCCB's. Who here winter drives their car that has PCCB's and do you notice anything negative about the brakes in cold, wet conditions?

Second question is regarding sports seats. Can anyone tell me why you can't get ventilated sports seats? It seems to me that for someone racing their car, having some extra cooling would be nice. I know the sports seats have a solid back for structural support....is this why they aren't ventilated? No way to pass the air through the seat? I don't see the car getting much track use, certainly not enough to offset the benefit of the ventilation on hot, long road trips so what are the feelings out there on the standard seats or for that matter the effectiveness of the ventilated seats?

Thanks for the help!
